SPECIAL PROJECT:

A roof for the Reading Room in Rusape, Zimbabwe

PROJECT UPDATE - FEB 29:

Yesterday I received a report on the Reading Room project from our friend and Journal-listed Christian Science Practitioner, Josiah Peters Chiwakira, CS, who is a member of the Christian Science group in Rusape, Zimbabwe:

Dear Brother Mark,
Greetings from Christian Science group Rusape. I wish to give you an initial progress report at our Reading Room. The builder has completed the roofing and repairing walls This week they are fitting the one window. What remains is fitting the book shelves and some paint work to the interior as well as the outside of the Reading Room.
The builders are owed six hundred dollars. Paint work is one hundred and fifty dollars. Could you please help us finance the discrepancy in the initial appeal.
Thank you very much for the support you have given us. I shall be submitting my final report when we have a date for opening to the public.
Yours in Christly love,
Josiah

ORIGINAL APPEAL: As we gather during this week of Thanksgiving, we invite you to please consider making a donation to help fund the materials to build a roof on the Reading Room in Rusape, Zimbabwe.

We were contacted by our friend and Journal-listed Christian Science Practitioner, Josiah Peters Chiwakira, CS, who is a member of the Christian Science group in Rusape, Zimbabwe. Josiah writes:

"Our group has two Christian Science practitioners with Class instruction and one is Journal listed. A total of 13 members are members the Mother Church. We are appealing for support to put a roof to our reading room. Our books and other church literature are exposed to bad weather conditions. We are seeking support from any willing individuals to help us with roofing and shelving material.

"Our Reading Room is in a rural area. The Reading Room structure needs to be completed. It needs roofing materials, doors and windows  as well as tiling to the floors. We currently use a single room which does not have adequate space for visitors to sit and read quietly.

"Meanwhile we keep on receiving literature every month and as of now the rains are causing damage to our literature. We desperately need help to avoid damage to the library literature."

During this week of Thanksgiving, we are asking our Prayerful Living community to consider making a donation to help provide the funds to purchase the materials to complete their Reading Room. 100% of the money raised for this special project will be sent to help purchase the materials to complete this project. All donations are tax-deductible in the USA.
